The SMART Pads on the RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo can be configured to send MIDI messages to software on a computer. This allows the pads to control a wide range of functions depending on the application, such as switching scenes in streaming software or triggering samples in a DAW.
- In most DAWs, the RØDECaster Pro II or Duo will appear as a MIDI device named “MIDI Function”.
- Each SMART Pad has a MIDI message pre-assigned by default.
You can customise each pad to send a specific MIDI message by selecting Custom. Available options include:
- Message type — Control Change (CC) or Note
- Control number or note value
- MIDI channel
- Message value
Pads can also be configured to send:
- An On message only
- An Off message only
- Both On and Off messages (On when pressed, Off when released)
In addition to sending MIDI messages, the RØDECaster Pro II and Duo can also receive MIDI messages from a computer.
