The v1.4.4 firmware update for the RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo has greatly improved their functionality. Users can now route audio from their computers to individual faders, allowing better control over each audio source and simplifying the management of different audio elements during production.
To access the virtual drivers, you'll also need to download the driver on your computer. While there are various combinations of input and output settings available, we will focus on the main three RØDECaster Virtual Drivers combinations that have been requested.
Combination 1: Standard Multitrack
| USB 1 Output | USB 1 Inputs | Virtual Device Driver | USB 1 Input (From Computer) | USB 1 Output (From RØDECaster) |
| Multitrack | Standard | Not Bypassed | Chat, Main, Combo 1-4, Bluetooth, USB 2, SMART Pads | Main, Chat |
The initial setup is the standard multitrack feature offered by the RØDECaster device. This setup is ideal for users who do not require the advanced features of the virtual drivers but may implement them later on.
With this option, you can capture multiple audio sources simultaneously, making it suitable for traditional Multitrack recording needs. These settings work best for setups for;
- Music Production
- Podcasts
- Other material for Future Upload / Editing
Combination 2: Expanded Virtual Inputs and Outputs
| USB 1 Output | USB 1 Inputs | Virtual Device Driver | USB 1 Input (From Computer) | USB 1 Output (From RØDECaster) |
| Stereo | Expanded | Not Bypassed | Chat, Main | Main, Chat, Game, Music, A, B |
- The output from the RØDECaster to the computer corresponds to the audio present on the faders.
- The computer input will continue to display MAIN and Chat; however, you should select System (RØDECaster) for your stereo input.
- You will also be provided with input options for any virtual channel.
- If you wish to include Combo 1 in your mix, you must either use the "System (RODECaster)" or enable both multitrack and expanded modes (refer to the details below).
The second combination is particularly beneficial for users looking to route specific outputs from their computer, such as game audio, music tracks, and system sounds, to individual faders on the RØDECaster.
This setup provides a more tailored audio mixing experience, allowing users to control each audio source independently. These settings work best for setups for;
- Gamers
- Content Streamers
- Live Podcasts
Combination 3: Multitrack Inputs and Virtual Outputs
| USB 1 Output | USB 1 Inputs | Virtual Device Driver | USB 1 Input (From Computer) | USB 1 Output (From RØDECaster) |
| Multitrack | Expanded | Not Bypassed | Chat, Main, Combo 1-4, Bluetooth, USB 2, SMART Pads | Main, Chat, Game, Music, A, B |
The final combination offers users the flexibility to select specific inputs and outputs from the RØDECaster.
This option allows you to choose particular microphone combo ports and route audio from your computer to individual faders. With this setup, you can easily manage various audio channels, giving you complete control over your audio production. These settings work best for setups for;
- Live Music Production
- Live Podcasts Streaming & Recording
