To get the latest features for the RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo, it is important to ensure they're updated and running the latest firmware.
As long as the unit is connected to the internet (via WIFI or Ethernet), you can download and install the new firmware directly. We recommend this process, as it can be faster than updating via your computer.
However, if you would like to update via your computer:
- Uninstall/delete any previous versions of the RØDE Central desktop application.
- Download and install the latest version of RØDE Central desktop app.
- Connect your device to the computer via USB and update!!

After the initial firmware update, you can connect the RØDECaster Pro II/Duo to the RØDE Central desktop app (via USB1 port) and If you leave your RØDECaster Pro II connect to the WIFI or Ethernet network, when there is a new firmware update available you will be prompted on the RØDECaster Pro II.
RØDE Central OS Requirements
- Mac: RØDE Central requires MacOS 11 or later.
- Windows: RØDE Central requires Windows 10 Version 1803 or later.
