Your RØDECaster Pro II or RØDECaster Duo is ready to use straight out of the box. However, completing the steps below before your first recording will help you get the best experience and take advantage of the latest features.
1. Update the Firmware
Before recording, make sure your RØDECaster is running the latest firmware. Firmware updates add new features, improve performance and resolve known issues.
- Update using the RØDECaster app on your Windows or Mac computer.
- You can also update directly from the device using Wi-Fi, Ethernet or a mobile hotspot.
2. Insert a microSD Card or USB Storage Device
Installing a microSD card or connecting a USB storage device allows you to record directly to your RØDECaster without requiring a computer.

3. Enable Multitrack Recording (Recommended)
If you're recording podcasts, interviews or broadcasts, multitrack recording captures each input on its own track, making editing and mixing much easier in your preferred DAW or editing software.
