The RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo include four virtual USB audio devices that can be assigned to mixer channels: Game, Music, Chat A and Chat B.
These virtual devices allow you to route audio from different applications independently, giving you greater control over your audio mix for streaming, gaming, podcasting and content creation.
Assign a Virtual Device to a Channel
- Press the button above a fader, or tap the channel icon beneath the channel's level meter.
- Tap the Settings (⚙) icon to open the channel assignment screen.
- Select one of the available virtual devices:
- Game
- Music
- Chat A
- Chat B
- Tap the green tick to save your changes.
Using Virtual Devices on Your Computer
Once assigned, the virtual devices appear as separate audio devices in your computer's sound settings. You can then choose them as the audio output for individual applications, allowing each application to be controlled independently on the RØDECaster mixer.
Tip: Assigning separate applications to different virtual devices allows you to control their levels independently, making it easier to create balanced livestreams, podcasts and recordings.
Please note: The Game, Music, Chat A and Chat B virtual devices are functionally identical. Their names are simply provided to help you organise different applications and workflows.
Please note: Virtual Devices offer powerful routing capabilities, making them ideal for users with complex audio setups. However, they might be unnecessary for everyday use of the RØDECaster Pro II or Duo. If you don't need to route audio between different applications, you likely won't need Virtual Devices.
