Virtual audio devices allow you to route the audio from individual software applications as if they were physical inputs to your RØDECaster.
First, you must install the Virtual Device Driver and then restart your computer. This is required for your computer to separate the audio from multiple pieces of software and communicate them to your RØDECaster. They can be found here.
After installing the Virtual Device Driver, follow these steps:
- First, Ensure your RØDECaster is running the latest firmware by navigating to Settings > System > Info > Check for Update while connected to a network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Connect your RØDECaster directly to your computer via USB 1
- Next, on your RØDECaster, navigate to Settings > Outputs > Multitrack > USB 1 Input and tap “Expanded”.
- On your computer, you'll notice additional inputs such as Game, Music, A and B.
Please note: Virtual Devices offer powerful routing capabilities, making them ideal for users with complex audio setups. However, they might be unnecessary for everyday use of the RØDECaster Pro II or Duo. If you don't need to route audio between different applications, you likely won't need Virtual Devices.
