Your computer's audio output is a stereo mix of all active software sounds. This includes audio from applications like music players, web browsers (including embedded audio like YouTube), games, and communication platforms. Each application typically has its own volume control, or in the case of web browsers, relies on the volume controls within the web pages themselves.
Virtual Devices allows you to route the audio from individual software applications as if they were physical inputs to your RØDECaster. This provides dedicated fader control for each application's audio, centralising your volume management. Furthermore, it unlocks the ability to apply individual processing and effects, create customised audio routings, and record each application's audio stream independently.
You will need to use our dedicated driver on your computer when attempting to use the Virtual Devices mode.
