If you are hosting a podcast or producing a recording, you may notice that the Listen/Solo button only outputs to Headphone Output 1 on the RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo. This behaviour is intentional and designed to support professional recording workflows.
Why Solo only plays through Headphone Output 1
Pressing the Listen/Solo button on a fader isolates that channel so it can be monitored independently. However, this solo signal is routed only to Headphone Output 1.
This allows the host or producer to check individual audio sources, adjust levels, or troubleshoot issues without affecting what other participants hear during the session.
Recommended setup for hosts and producers
To take full advantage of solo monitoring, the person responsible for recording or engineering should connect their headphones to Headphone Output 1. This ensures you can monitor channels privately while the session continues uninterrupted for guests.
