If you are experiencing issues with the RØDECaster Pro II or RØDECaster Duo Virtual Devices, follow the steps below to ensure the firmware, driver and Windows audio settings are configured correctly.
1. Update the Firmware and Virtual Device Driver
- Confirm your RØDECaster is running the latest firmware.
- Confirm you have installed the latest Virtual Device driver.
2. Verify the Multitrack Settings
On your RØDECaster, navigate to:
Settings > Outputs > Multitrack
Ensure the following options are enabled:
- Expanded USB 1 Input
- Pre/Post Fader USB 1 Output
3. Confirm the Virtual Device Is Connected
Open the Virtual Device application from your Windows taskbar or system tray and confirm it is communicating with your RØDECaster.
Also ensure the Bypass option is disabled.

4. Assign a Virtual Device to a Fader
If the Virtual Device channels are not visible in your computer's audio settings, ensure at least one Virtual Device channel has been assigned to a fader on your RØDECaster.
Navigate to:
Settings > Faders
Assign one of the available Virtual Device channels such as Music, Game, A or B.
5. Enable Disabled Audio Devices in Windows
Windows may automatically disable unused playback and recording devices.
- Open Windows Sound Settings.
- Select More Sound Settings (Windows 11).
- Right click within the device list and enable Show Disabled Devices.
- Enable any disabled RØDECaster playback and recording devices.
