If you hear a hissing sound from one of the headphone outputs on your RØDECaster Pro II or RØDECaster Duo, check the headphone routing, channel levels, headphone volume and headphone sensitivity settings.
These settings can affect the amount of noise you hear through the connected headphones.
Check the Headphone Routing
Check the routing settings for the affected headphone output and confirm that the correct channels are being sent to it.
Settings > Outputs > Routing > Select headphone port
Also check the level of each routed channel. If a channel level is set too high, reduce it and check whether the hissing is reduced.
Check the Headphone Volume
Check the headphone volume dial for the affected headphone output.
If the headphone volume is set very high, reduce the level and check whether the hissing becomes less noticeable.
Check the Headphone Sensitivity
Make sure the headphone sensitivity setting matches the type of headphones or earphones you are using.
Settings > Outputs > Headphones > Select headphone port
- High Sensitivity: Use for earphones, IEMs or low impedance headphones.
- Low Sensitivity: Use for headphones with a high impedance.
Using the correct headphone sensitivity setting helps ensure the headphone output level is appropriate for the connected headphones.
