If the date and time on your RØDECaster Pro II or RØDECaster Duo reset unexpectedly, it's usually because the device has been disconnected from power for an extended period.
Like many electronic devices, the RØDECaster uses an internal battery to maintain the date and time while the unit is powered off. If this battery becomes depleted, the clock will reset the next time the RØDECaster is turned on.
How to Prevent the Date and Time from Resetting
- Keep your RØDECaster connected to power whenever practical.
- If you need to unplug the unit, try to minimise the amount of time it remains disconnected.
- Once reconnected to power, set the correct date and time again if they have been reset.
Please note: This behaviour is normal and is not unique to the RØDECaster Pro II or RØDECaster Duo. Many electronic devices use an internal battery to maintain their clock while disconnected from power.
Tip: If your RØDECaster is regularly disconnected for long periods, check the date and time before recording to ensure your recordings have the correct timestamps.
