The REC button on the RØDECaster Pro II or RØDECaster Duo has different colour indicators that convey specific meanings. These colour indicators include blue, green, red, and orange/yellow.
Blue LED
- If the record button is blue, it indicates that you haven't inserted a MicroSD card into the RØDECaster Pro II or attached a USB storage device. In this state, you cannot start recording until you have inserted the MicroSD card or attached the USB storage to one of the two USB ports.
Green LED
- When the button LED turns green, it means that the device is in standby mode and ready to record. You can initiate recording by pressing the button.
Red LED
- A red LED on the REC button signifies that the RØDECaster Pro II is actively recording to the storage device you have attached, whether it's the MicroSD card, USB storage, or both.
Orange/Yellow LED
- If you press the REC button while recording, it will turn orange, indicating that the recording is paused. Pressing it again will change the colour back to red, indicating that recording has resumed.
Please note: Long-pressing the REC button or long-pressing while it's orange will stop and save the recording. After the recording is saved the RØDECaster Pro II or RØDECaster Duo will return to standby mode, which is indicated by the green colour.
