This article explains how to set up Direct Connect with the Wireless PRO and Wireless GO (3rd Gen). This feature allows compatible Wireless transmitters to connect directly to a mobile device without requiring a receiver.
Direct Connect simplifies your setup and provides greater mobility for capturing high-quality audio on the go.
- Ensure your Wireless transmitters are updated to the latest firmware using the RØDE Central desktop app.
- Each transmitter needs to be updated to at least v2.0.8 firmware.
- If you're not prompted to update to at least v2.0.8 firmware, please enable "Optional updates" in the RØDE Central desktop app settings.
RØDE Central: You can download the latest RØDE Central desktop app from here.
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device.
- Open the RØDE Capture app on your device.
- Make sure the RØDE Capture is up-to-date on the iOS store.
- Tap the microphone icon in the top-left corner to access audio input settings.
- Select Direct Connect to begin pairing your transmitters.
- Turn on the transmitters only. Do not power on the receiver, as the transmitters will automatically pair with it instead.
- Watch your device screen for available transmitters.
- You should see the Chain icon (∞) flash blue on the transmitter
- Tap each transmitter as it appears to connect.
- Multiple transmitters can be connected if required.
- Once paired, the transmitters will send audio directly to your mobile device during recording.
- Pairing is confirmed when the Chain icon (∞) is solid Purple on the transmitter.
Please note: Direct Connect is only supported within the RØDE Capture app. When using other recording apps, you must use the Wireless receiver for connectivity.
