This is required for your computer to separate the audio from multiple pieces of software and communicate them to your RØDECaster. This driver allows you to select multiple audio output options, and route your specific computer applications to one of the channels on your RØDECaster Pro II or Duo.
We recommend using OBS as your primary audio recording software when using the Virtual Devices feature.
Key Differences in your workflow you should know:
When using Virtual Devices, there are a number of things to be aware of that are different from when you’re using your RØDECaster Pro II or Duo normally.
When using Virtual Devices, “System (RØDECaster)” is your new main stereo output channel.
The input device on your computer, which is usually either RØDECaster Pro II (Main Stereo) or RØDECaster Pro II (Main Multitrack) will not function the same way when using Virtual Devices.
To get your full stereo output from your device, you must use the new “System (RØDECaster)” option.
While you will still see the option for RØDECaster Pro II (Main Stereo) or RØDECaster Pro II in your sound settings, they will not work unless you bypass the Virtual Devices driver.
