Virtual Devices and Multitrack are two different features available on the RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo. While both allow you to work with multiple audio channels, they serve different purposes.
Virtual Devices
Virtual Devices are used to separate audio from different software applications running on your computer. This allows you to independently control and route audio from applications such as web browsers, music players, games and voice chat software.
- Routes audio within your computer.
- Separates audio from individual software applications.
- Ideal for streaming, content creation and advanced audio routing.
Multitrack
Multitrack sends individual audio channels from your RØDECaster to your recording software. Instead of recording a single stereo mix, each microphone, instrument or input can be recorded to its own track for greater flexibility during editing.
- Routes audio from the RØDECaster to your computer.
- Records individual inputs on separate tracks.
- Ideal for podcast production, music recording and post-production.
