A feature of the RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo is the option to power the unit using a power bank, offering an alternative to the supplied power supply connected to the USB-C power port. This is perfect for on-the-go podcasts or recordings where a power supply might be hard to come by.
It's important to use a specific type of power bank, specifically one with a minimum of 30W USB-C Power Delivery (PD). The RØDECaster Pro II is compatible with the following Power Delivery options:
- 5V, 3A
- 12V, 2.5A
- 20V, 1.5A
- 9V, 3A
- 15V, 2A
Power Delivery (PD) simply means how the battery provides electrical energy to charge or power devices like smartphones, tablets, or laptops. It involves the battery's ability to deliver the right amount of power efficiently and safely to keep your devices running or charging when you need them.
Approximately one hour of operation can be expected per 10W/h capacity of the power bank. A high-quality battery pack is recommended for optimal performance, providing around ten hours of power. It's worth noting that actual power consumption depends on various factors such as screen and LED brightness, USB connectivity, and phantom power status, resulting in variable operational durations.
