Auto Mute Monitor Output helps prevent audio feedback by automatically muting your monitor speakers whenever a live microphone is active. This is particularly useful when recording in the same room as your monitor speakers.
Monitor Status
When Auto Mute Monitor Output is enabled, the colour of the monitor icon indicates whether your monitor speakers are active.
- A green ring indicates the monitor speakers are active and audio is being sent to the monitor outputs.
- An amber ring indicates the monitor speakers have been temporarily muted because a microphone channel is active.
Disabling Auto Mute
If Auto Mute Monitor Output is disabled, audio will continue to play through your monitor speakers even while microphones are active. If the monitor volume is set too high, the microphones may pick up the speaker output, resulting in audio feedback.
Please note: Before disabling Auto Mute Monitor Output, reduce the monitor speaker volume using the large master rotary dial to minimise the risk of feedback.
Tip: We recommend leaving Auto Mute Monitor Output enabled when recording in the same room as your monitor speakers. It provides the best protection against feedback without affecting headphone monitoring.
