Zoom License Details & Setup
When you purchase the Conference Room Connector license from the official Zoom website, it may prompt you to also consider a Zoom Rooms subscription. This suggestion can be misleading if you're looking for a more economical solution.
Fortunately, a more budget-friendly alternative is to simply add the Conference Room Connector license to an existing standard Zoom Workplace Pro license.
To establish a connection, the most straightforward approach is to have the RØDECaster join your Zoom meeting directly. This method eliminates the need to configure your unit for internet accessibility through port forwarding, simplifying the setup process significantly.
- Begin by hosting your Zoom meeting as you typically would, following your usual procedures to set it up.
- Next, have the RØDECaster join the meeting by dialling a SIP URI in the specific format:
-
$MeetingID.Passcode@zoomcrc.com
- In this format, the section preceding the dot represents the meeting ID, while the part following it is the passcode required to access the meeting.
-
$MeetingID.Passcode@zoomcrc.com
Select your CallMe channel and select "CallMe Configuration". Here you can make a call out to a SIP Address or another RØDECaster.
In the SIP options you will be able to enter the SIP address and adjust any codec options to your likings.

You can initiate this dialling process either directly from the RØDE unit or through the web interface. For added convenience, consider saving the SIP URI to a Quick-Dial feature or assigning it to a SMART pad for quick access in future meetings.
