If your RØDECaster Pro II or RØDECaster Duo freezes during a firmware update, don't worry. In most cases, the update can be completed successfully by restarting the unit and retrying the update using a different network connection.
Retry the Firmware Update
- Disconnect all cables from the RØDECaster, including the power cable.
- Leave the unit disconnected from power for at least 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cable and turn the RØDECaster back on.
- From the Home screen, go to Settings > System > Network.
- Enable the mobile hotspot on your smartphone.
- Select your mobile hotspot from the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
- Retry the firmware update.
- Once the update has completed, reconnect the RØDECaster to your usual network.
Please note: Some network configurations can interrupt firmware downloads. Using a mobile hotspot is a useful way to determine whether the issue is related to your network connection.
Tip: Ensure your RØDECaster remains connected to power throughout the firmware update. Disconnecting power while an update is in progress may prevent the update from completing successfully.
