Depending on the RØDE Wireless IV transmitter (TX) you possess, it is possible to utilize the TX as a standalone microphone for audio recording without requiring the receiver to be present or on.
What Are Wireless Series IV products? These are the latest versions of products in our Wireless Series range such as the Wireless GO II, Wireless ME, Wireless PRO and Interview PRO
Both the Wireless GO II and Wireless PRO TX models have the capability to internally record audio using their onboard memory. This means that you can activate the microphone to begin recording as soon as it is powered on, effectively using the transmitter as an independent microphone. The recorded audio on the TX can then be extracted through a computer using the RØDE Central desktop application.
Please note: This functionality is not available with the original Wireless GO or Wireless ME units.
