Yes. Updating the firmware or performing a factory reset on a Wireless GO II, Wireless GO (3rd Gen), or Wireless PRO transmitter (TX) will permanently erase all onboard recordings stored on the transmitter.
Back up your recordings before updating
We recommend creating two backups before performing a firmware update or factory reset.
- Copy the recordings directly from the transmitter using your computer's file explorer or Finder (Mac).
- Export the recordings using the RØDE Central desktop app.
Using both methods provides an extra level of protection in case a file becomes corrupted or is accidentally deleted.
What else is reset?
In addition to deleting onboard recordings, a firmware update or factory reset will restore the transmitter to its default settings. This includes any customised preferences that have been configured in RØDE Central.
After the update is complete, we recommend reviewing your settings to ensure features such as onboard recording mode, gain settings, safety channel, and other preferences are configured as required.
