When using the Streamer X, you may have noticed that the microphone channel LED turns off after you select a channel. This behaviour might seem confusing at first, but it actually serves an important purpose.
The microphone channel LED on the Streamer X is designed to provide visual feedback on the strength of the audio signal coming from your microphone. After selecting a Microphone channel, the LED will turn off after 3 seconds then the LED turns on and starts illuminating in different colours to indicate the strength of the microphone audio signal.
- When the LED is Green, it means that the microphone signal is at an optimal level. This indicates that the audio quality will be clear and without any distortion.
- If the LED turns Amber, it suggests that the signal is approaching a high level and might result in some distortion.
- Finally, if the LED turns Red, it means that the signal is too strong and is likely causing distortion and clipping the audio.
If you find that your audio consistently hits the red level on the LED, it is recommended to adjust the microphone level using the rotary encoder.
