The Video Feed Cut Off Switch is an important feature that has undergone significant changes in its behaviour across different firmware versions. The latest updates have introduced a more refined approach to how and when you can cut the video feed being transmitted to your computer via USB.
What has changed?
Previously, users had the ability to cut off the video feed at any time, regardless of whether the feed was actively being utilised by an application. This flexibility allowed for quick adjustments but sometimes led to confusion regarding the actual state of the video feed.
With the recent firmware updates, the functionality has been streamlined. You will now find that the video feed can only be cut off once it has been requested or accessed by the program you are using. This means that the video feed must be actively engaged within the software before you can successfully use the cut-off switch.
For instance, if you are using OBS and you have added the Streamer X as a video source, the feed must be currently active within OBS for the cut-off switch to work. This means that if you attempt to press the video feed button before the feed is being used by OBS, nothing will happen. The switch will remain inactive until the program recognises that the video feed is in use.
This adjustment not only clarifies the operation of the video feed cut-off switch but also helps prevent potential disruptions during live streams or recordings.
