If you're experiencing unexpected behaviour with your RØDECaster Video Core, performing a factory reset can resolve many software-related issues by restoring the device to its factory default settings.
Please note: A factory reset will erase your current device settings. We recommend exporting your show before proceeding if you wish to restore your configuration later.
Factory Reset Using the RØDECaster App
- Connect your RØDECaster Video Core to your computer and open the RØDECaster App.
- Select your RØDECaster Video Core.
- Navigate to Device Configuration > System > Info > Reset.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the factory reset.

Factory Reset Without a Computer
You can also perform a factory reset directly on the RØDECaster Video Core without using the RØDECaster App.
- Power off the RØDECaster Video Core.
- Press and hold the front audio encoder knob.
- While continuing to hold the knob, power on the device.
- Keep holding the knob while the LED flashes orange.
- Release the knob once the LED changes to a solid red.
- The factory reset process will begin automatically.
After the Factory Reset
Once the reset is complete, we recommend testing the unit before importing a previously saved show. This helps determine whether the issue has been resolved before restoring your settings.
Please note: A factory reset restores the USB 1 Video Output setting to its default value of Off. If you use USB 1 for video output, you will need to re-enable this setting after the reset.
