Consistent software crashes can be frustrating and disruptive, but they also provide valuable insights into the underlying issues that need to be addressed. When a software crash occurs, it is recommended to submit a detailed crash report to the RØDE Service Team for assessment.
A crash report is an essential diagnostic tool for the RØDE Service Team. The following steps will assist the Service Team in effectively addressing future crashes, along with their recommendations.
The first step is to inform the RØDE Service Team by using our contact form here. When submitting a crash report, it is essential to provide as much relevant information as possible. This includes:
- Clearly outline the sequence of actions that led to the crash. Be specific with background applications active and provide any relevant details or error messages encountered.
- Specify the exact version of the software experiencing the crash. This can be the computer software or RØDE Software versions.
- Include details about your operating system, hardware specifications, and any other software running concurrently. Please see our article here: How to access your PC or Mac System information
- If applicable, please attach a screenshot of any error messages that may have appeared after the crash. Including the text from the crash message in the body of the email would be beneficial.

After submitting the crash report to our service team, they will provide you with further troubleshooting steps. Additionally, these reports may be forwarded to the software developers to enhance future versions of the RØDE software.
