RØDE Wireless products are advertised with a battery life of up to 7 hours. Actual performance may vary depending on usage conditions and the operating environment.
Battery Life Cycle
Rechargeable lithium batteries naturally lose capacity over time as they are charged and discharged. This process, known as battery cycling, gradually reduces the amount of energy the battery can store.
Lithium batteries also slowly discharge when not in use. Long periods of storage without recharging can further reduce available capacity.
- Fully charge the wireless units before each use
- Use a reliable, high-quality power source for charging
RF Environment
Battery consumption is influenced by the radio frequency (RF) environment. In areas with heavy wireless traffic or interference, the system may use more power to maintain a stable connection.
- Avoid operating near strong RF sources such as other wireless devices
- Minimise obstacles between the transmitter and receiver
Transmission Distance
Greater distance between the transmitter and receiver increases power usage. Operating near the maximum range may reduce overall battery life.
- Maintain a clear line of sight between Wireless units where possible
Temperature
Extreme temperatures can significantly affect battery performance. Very hot or cold conditions may result in reduced operating time.
- Operate devices between 0 °C and 45 °C (32 °F to 113 °F)
- Allow devices to reach room temperature before use or charging after exposure to extreme conditions
