Most RØDE camera microphones with a 3.5mm connection are designed primarily for use with cameras and audio recorders. This is why they include a 3.5mm TRS to TRS cable in the box.
These microphones can also be used with mobile devices, but this requires a different cable.
Connecting to a mobile device
- To connect a 3.5mm camera microphone to a mobile device, you must use a TRRS to TRS cable.
- Supported RØDE cables include:
Devices without a 3.5 mm port
- If your device does not have a 3.5mm input, use the official USB-C to 3.5mm adapter from the device manufacturer.
- For iOS devices, use the official Apple Lightning or USB-C to 3. mm adapter.
The SC4 and SC7 cables are compatible with the majority of mobile devices when used with the correct adapter.
