If you are using a Motorola smartphone with a RØDE USB or wireless microphone, the default Moto Camera 3 app may not support external microphone input.
While 3.5mm TRRS microphones are supported, USB and wireless microphones require a compatible third-party camera app.
Recommended App: Open Camera
We recommend using the free Open Camera app for recording with external microphones on Android devices.
- Connect your RØDE microphone before opening the app
- This ensures proper detection of the external input
Enable External Microphone
- Open Open Camera
- Go to Settings
- Select Video Settings
- Tap Audio Source
- Select External mic
Additional Device Compatibility
Some Android devices (such as Oppo, OnePlus, and Huawei) may require OTG to be enabled for external microphones to function correctly.
