Some people encounter issues when attempting to connect their Wireless Series microphones to their smartphones or computers/laptops using the supplied 3.5mm cable. The primary reason for this problem lies in the difference between TRS and TRRS connectors.
TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) cables, such as the SC5 or SC2 cables, have three contact points and are typically designed for devices like cameras and audio recorders. On the other hand, TRRS (Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve) connectors have four contact points and are generally used for smartphones, tablets, and laptops. This discrepancy means that a TRS cable will not establish a proper connection with devices that require a TRRS input, leading to audio issues or complete non-functionality.
To resolve this, you can use a SC7 or SC4 TRS to TRRS adapter, which will convert the TRS connector into a TRRS one, making it compatible with your smart device.
