If your Wireless Series IV RX isn't recognized on your mobile device, don't worry. Here are some steps to help you fix the issue and ensure your device works properly.
Update Firmware
First, make sure your Wireless RX has the latest firmware. Firmware updates can improve functionality and compatibility. Use the RØDE Central desktop app on your computer to update the firmware.
Connect your Wireless RX to your computer and follow the app's instructions. Keeping your firmware updated can solve many recognition issues.
Using the Correct Cable
If you're using an Apple device using a lightning connector, ensure you're using an MFI (Made for iPhone) certified cable. MFI cables meet Apple's performance standards.
For Android and iPhone 15 users, try a different USB-C cable if your Wireless RX isn't recognized. Not all USB-C cables support data transfer or may have compatibility issues. Testing different USB-C cables can often fix connectivity problems.
Trying Different Apps
Check if the Wireless RX is recognized by the free RØDE Central mobile app. Open the app on your mobile device and see if the Wireless RX appears in the list of detected devices. This helps determine if the issue is hardware or software related.
- If the app detects the Wireless RX , it means the hardware is working correctly. The problem might be with a specific video or audio app you're using.
SC7 Cable (TRRS to TRS)
You can use this 3.5mm TRRS cable to connect your Wireless RX to your mobile device, though keep in mind that it is not compatible with the RØDE mobile apps as the cable is an analogue connection. If you're mobile device doesn't have a native 3.5mm connection, we recommend using an official adapter to connect your Wireless RX to your mobile device.
