The error message "Incompatible Driver Detected" can occur when using RØDE Connect or RØDE Unify software with RØDE USB microphones on a PC. This issue is typically caused by certain audio drivers that are not compatible with these software applications. To resolve this problem, here are a couple of suggestions:
1. Using a USB Hub
The easiest workaround to connect the RØDE USB microphone to the PC is by using a USB hub. This can help bypass any compatibility issues between the audio drivers and the software.
2. Checking Computer Audio drivers
Some computers with certain Audio Drivers may not work as expected with RØDE Connect or RØDE Unify initially. If this is the case, there is still a way to use the RØDE software on your computer.
We'd suggest to temporarily disable these drivers within the Device Manager of your PC. Here's how:
- Open the 'Device Manager' on your PC by accessing it through your start menu.
- Scroll down to the section labelled 'Sound, video and game controllers'.
- Right-click on your Audio driver ending in 'USB Audio' and select the 'Disable' option.
- After disabling the drivers, unplug the microphone from your computer and then plug it back in again and reopen RØDE Connect or RØDE Unify.
Following either of these suggestions should allow you to use RØDE Connect or RØDE Unify software on your PC.
