Remote Guests, via Teams or Zoom can be integrated into the RØDECaster Video with the use of an additional device, such as a computer, laptop or mobile phone to host the call.
How to Add a Remote Guest to an Audio-Only Call:
- Connect the device hosting the call to your RØDECaster Video using either a USB Connection or over Bluetooth.
- Within the audio mixer of your RØDECaster Video, add the corresponding audio channel for your caller. This will ensure that your guest's audio is included in the mix.
You now have two-way audio communication between you and your remote guest through your RØDECaster Video.
How to Add a Remote Guest to a Video Call
- Connect your computer or laptop to your RØDECaster Video via USB 1. This will act as the input from your cameras connected to the RØDECaster Video for the call. It will also be the back and forth signal for your call's audio.
- Connect the HDMI output of your laptop or computer to an available HDMI input on your RØDECaster Video.
- This will send the incoming video from your remote guest to the RØDECaster Video.
- In the Audio Mixer, add USB 1 as a channel. This will include the audio from your guest in the mix.
- Within your video call service's settings, select "RØDECaster Video Main Stereo" as both the audio input and the output. This will create the two-way audio communication between you and your guest.
You should now be able to switch between your own camera(s) and the video feed of your remote guest using the source buttons on the face of your RØDECaster Video.
For best results, we recommend creating a custom scene for the feed from your remote guest's call, which is cropped around the camera. This will create a clean image without any unwanted UI from the call hosting service in the frame.
