Expand the audio capabilities of your video productions by pairing your RØDECaster Pro II or RØDECaster Duo with a RØDECaster Video. This is a great solution if you need additional physical audio inputs and faders for your live stream or recording.
The RØDECaster Video features two versatile USB-C ports (USB 4 and 5) that can connect to a range of RØDE USB audio devices, including the RØDECaster Pro II and Duo. By default, these ports are assigned to Input Buttons 5 and 6.
Connecting your RØDECaster interface is as simple as running a USB-C cable from the USB 2 output to either the USB 4 or 5 port on the RØDECaster Video. The device will be automatically recognised as a stereo audio source.
What are the benefits?
- Expanded Inputs, where you can add up to four additional XLR inputs with a RØDECaster Pro II or two with a Duo, perfect for multi-person panel discussions or podcasts.
- Greater control using the physical faders on your RØDECaster Pro II or Duo for hands-on audio mixing.
- Consistent sounds with all APHEX audio processing and effects from your external RØDECaster are carried over in the stereo mix sent to the RØDECaster Video.
Are there any limitations?
When connected via USB, your RØDECaster Pro II or Duo sends a single stereo mix to the RØDECaster Video. This means you cannot record the individual microphone channels (multitrack) from the external RØDECaster directly onto the RØDECaster Video.
For full multitrack recording, you will need to press record on both devices simultaneously and sync the individual audio files from your Pro II/Duo with your video in post-production.
Note; the Streamer X, AI-1 and RØDECaster Pro (original) are not compatible with the RØDECaster Video.
What else should I consider?
If you're wanting to use up to four mics directly with the RØDECaster Video without needing a second interface, we recommend looking into using two PodMics (via Combo jacks 1 and 2) and two PodMic USBs (via USB ports 4 and 5).
Alternatively, you can integrate some of our Wireless Microphones, such as the Wireless PRO or Wireless GO (Gen 3), into your setup for even more flexibility.
Lastly, If you're running all your Audio through the RØDECaster Pro II or RØDECaster DUO, we recommend monitoring your audio through one of those instead of the RØDECaster Video, as there will be a very minor but natural USB latency between them and the RØDECaster Video.
