Direct Connect and Bluetooth
Direct Connect allows the Wireless Micro transmitter (TX) to connect directly to a mobile device via Bluetooth using the RØDE Capture app.
- The Wireless Micro is optimised for best performance when the TX connects to the receiver (RX) using its dedicated 2.4 GHz wireless connection.
- Bluetooth connections may result in lower audio levels and reduced range compared to the RX.
- This behaviour is expected and not a fault with the device.
For critical recordings or maximum range, using the receiver (RX) is recommended.
Adjusting Gain in Direct Connect Mode
If your audio is too quiet when using Direct Connect, you can increase the gain directly within the RØDE Capture app.
- Tap the microphone icon in the top-left corner of the RØDE Capture screen.
- Speak at your normal recording volume.
- Adjust the input level fader until your levels sit within the green range of the meter.
- Avoid peaks entering the red zone, as this indicates clipping (distortion).
Set your gain so normal speech sits comfortably in the green range to maintain clear, distortion-free audio.
