The RØDECaster Video and RØDECaster Video S support webcams, cameras and capture devices that use the USB Video Class (UVC) standard. Compatible devices connected to the supported USB ports are recognised as video inputs, allowing them to be used in the same way as HDMI sources.
Supported USB Ports
- RØDECaster Video: USB 4 and USB 5
- RØDECaster Video S: USB 4
When a compatible UVC device is connected, the RØDECaster provides power to the device and automatically detects it as a video input.
Compatibility Requirements
To ensure reliable performance, your USB video device must output an uncompressed UVC video stream with a minimum resolution of 1080p at 24 fps.
Supported uncompressed formats include:

Compressed formats such as the following are not supported:
- H.264
