When using a RØDE USB microphone with an iPhone, iPad or Android device, the recording level is controlled by the recording application, not the microphone itself. If your recordings are too quiet, you can increase the input level using a compatible recording app.
Adjust the Input Level
Some recording applications allow you to increase the microphone input level before recording.
- Connect your RØDE USB microphone to your mobile device.
- Open a recording application that supports microphone input level adjustment.
- Increase the input level until your recordings reach the desired volume.
Recommended apps:
Using Other Recording Apps
You can also use compatible third party recording applications with your RØDE USB microphone.
- Connect the microphone to your mobile device.
- Open your preferred recording application.
- Locate the microphone or input level settings.
- Increase the input level and test your recording.
Tip: Once the input level has been adjusted, the setting is typically retained by the operating system and may also apply when using other recording apps on the same mobile device.
Please note: The availability of microphone input level controls depends on the recording application. Some apps do not provide manual input gain adjustment.
