The PodMic USB includes a convenient mute function when used with RØDE Connect or RØDE UNIFY. Pressing the headphone volume control mutes both the microphone input and headphone monitoring, making it easy to quickly silence your microphone during calls, streams or recordings.
Mute the PodMic USB
- Press the headphone volume control inward.
- Check the LED next to the USB port.
- A red LED confirms that the microphone input and headphone monitoring have been muted.
Unmute the PodMic USB
- Press the headphone volume control inward again.
- A green LED indicates that the microphone and headphone monitoring are active.
Tip: When using RØDE Connect or RØDE UNIFY, the headphone volume control provides a quick way to mute and unmute the PodMic USB without needing to use the software interface.
Please note: If you are not using RØDE Connect or RØDE UNIFY, pressing the headphone volume control only disables headphone monitoring. The microphone continues transmitting audio, so you must mute it within your recording or conferencing application, such as Zoom or REAPER.
Please note: When the PodMic USB is connected using XLR, the headphone volume control cannot mute the microphone. Use the mute function on your audio interface or mixer instead.
