This article explains how to perform a hard reset on the RØDECaster Pro using the firmware updater. This process can help resolve persistent issues by reinstalling the firmware.
This process will reinstall firmware and may reset device settings. Ensure any important data is backed up before proceeding.
Before You Begin
- Download the RØDECaster Pro Firmware v2.0.4 from the attachment at the bottom of this article.
- Use a reliable USB cable to connect your device.
Performing a Hard Reset
- Power off the RØDECaster Pro.
- Connect the device to your computer via USB.
- Press and hold the Channel 2 and Channel 4 buttons.
- While holding both buttons, power on the device.
- Continue holding until the REC light flashes white, then release the buttons.
- Launch the firmware updater on your computer.
- Hold the ALT key (Windows) or Option key (Mac), select the RØDECaster Pro, then click Next.
- When prompted to downgrade to firmware version 2.0.4, click Yes.
- Once the update begins, you can release the ALT/Option key.
- Wait for the process to complete. Do not disconnect or power off the device.
Interrupting the firmware update may cause the device to become unresponsive.
Updating to the Latest Firmware
After installing version 2.0.4, update to the latest firmware using the RØDECaster Pro Companion app.
