Yes, you can indeed connect the USB-C Wireless Micro to non-mobile devices, including computers and our very own RØDECaster Video. This versatility allows users to enhance their audio input capabilities beyond just mobile devices.
Using with a Computer:
Simply connect the Wireless Micro into one of the available USB-C ports of your computer or docking station. The Wireless Micro RX will appear as a microphone input in your sound preferences, then you're good to go!
Using with a RØDECaster Video or RØDECaster Pro II:
- Simply connect the Wireless Micro into either port 4 or 5 of your RØDECaster Video to get started.
- Please ensure you have USB 4 or 5 as an active channel in your audio menu, this can be done on the RØDECaster itself or via RØDE Central on desktop.
- For the RØDECaster Pro II, simply connect the Wireless Micro receiver to USB-2 and ensure you have USB-2 on an active channel.
Using with a Camera:
The Wireless Micro comes with either a USB-C or Lightning connector, which means if you want to connect it to a camera, you have two options to get your set-up working.
The first is to choose the Wireless Micro Camera Kit over the Wireless Micro, as this kit comes with both a USB-C receiver and a dedicated Camera Receiver.
If you already own the Wireless Micro and would like to expand its capabilities to connect it to a camera, you can invest in the stand-alone Wireless Micro Camera Receiver. This will allow you to pair your existing Wireless Micro kit with a receiver that is compatible with 3.5mm connections.
You can also connect the USB output of either of the Wireless Micro Camera Receiver types into a:
- Computer;
- RØDECaster Pro II via USB-2 or;
- RØDECaster Video via USB-4 or USB-5.
