The RØDECaster Pro Companion app was originally developed exclusively for the RØDECaster Pro upon its release in 2019.
However, in 2025, RØDE introduced the RØDECaster app, which has become the primary companion app for a range of RØDE products such as the RØDECaster PRO II, RØDECaster Duo, RØDECaster Video and Streamer X.
Although the RØDECaster app works with many RØDE devices, it is not compatible with the RØDECaster Pro. To update the RØDECaster Pro firmware, you still need to use the RØDECaster Pro Companion app.
