The Wireless PRO uses the industry standard SMPTE timecode format, which is designed to support frame rates up to 30 fps. If you are recording video at higher frame rates, you can still use timecode successfully by selecting a compatible timecode frame rate.
Using Timecode with High Frame Rate Recording
When recording at frame rates above 30 fps, set the Wireless PRO timecode frame rate to a value that divides evenly into your camera's recording frame rate. This ensures reliable synchronisation throughout your recording and post production workflow.
For example:
- Record at 60 fps using a 30 fps timecode.
- Record at 120 fps using a 30 fps timecode.
Synchronising in Post Production
Most professional editing applications, including DaVinci Resolve, can synchronise video recorded at higher frame rates with Wireless PRO audio that has been recorded using 30 fps timecode.
During media import or timeline synchronisation, the software uses the embedded timecode to accurately align your audio and video, providing a smooth editing workflow regardless of the camera recording frame rate.
