If you are not receiving audio from your VideoMic Pro, first check that the microphone is powered on and that you are using the correct cable or adaptor for your device.
Check the Microphone Power
The VideoMic Pro is battery powered and must be switched on before it can send audio to a camera or audio recorder.
- Switch the VideoMic Pro on.
- Confirm that the power LED is illuminated.
- If the LED does not turn on, replace the battery with a new alkaline battery.
- Reconnect the microphone and test the audio again.
Connecting to a Mobile Device
The VideoMic Pro uses a TRS connection and is designed primarily for cameras and audio recorders. To connect it to a mobile device with a 3.5 mm TRRS input, use a compatible adaptor such as the SC4 or SC7.
These adaptors work with most mobile devices, but compatibility may vary with computer and laptop audio inputs.
Using USB C or Lightning Devices
If your mobile device does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, we recommend using the official USB C or Lightning to 3.5 mm adaptor supplied or recommended by the device manufacturer.
