To optimize your RØDELink setup, it is crucial to understand the environment and potential factors that may affect its performance.
- Interference from other devices in the 2.4GHz spectrum, especially Wi-Fi access points, can significantly impact the performance of your RØDELink system. To assess interference, check the number of access points in your vicinity using your smartphone. More access points mean higher interference potential.
- In a congested 2.4GHz environment, multiple access points can reduce the range performance of your RØDELink system. Keeping a distance between interferers and your system can help mitigate this impact. Ideally, maintain a shorter distance between your transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) than between any interfering devices and your system.
- For optimal performance, aim to keep your transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) in direct line of sight with no obstructions. While the TX may need to be concealed at times, ensuring clear signal transmission path can enhance the RØDELink's range.
- Properly orienting the antenna in your RØDELink kit during operation can also enhance system performance. The RX-CAM should be correctly oriented when mounted via the standard cold shoe mount. If not using the shoe, position the receiver with the bottom (opposite side to the screen) facing towards the transmitter.
