The HDMI to USB-C Converter allows you to connect an HDMI video source to a computer as a UVC webcam, carrying both video and audio over a single USB connection.
When connected to the RØDECaster Video, the converter can only provide a video signal. Audio embedded in the HDMI signal is not available via the USB input.
Why Audio Isn't Available
The RØDECaster Video's USB inputs are designed to accept either a video source or an audio source, but not both simultaneously. As a result, when using the HDMI to USB-C Converter, only the video portion of the signal is recognised.
Tip: USB inputs 4 and 5 are ideal for additional camera angles or other video-only sources that don't require embedded audio.
Please note: If you need both video and audio from the same source, connect the video via an HDMI input on the RØDECaster Video and use the appropriate audio input (HDMI or one of the combo inputs) instead of the USB converter.
