Why do my Recordings have Low Audio with my Wireless GO II?

If you're facing issues with low recording volume when using the Wireless GO II units, there are a few potential reasons for this. 

Camera Audio Settings:

When connecting the Wireless GO II receiver (RX) to a camera or audio recorder using a 3.5mm connection, it's a good place to start with the Wireless GO II RX is set to maximum gain (0dB) then adjust the recording level on the connected device by gradually reducing it until you reach an average of -12 dB on the device's audio metering. This careful adjustment will help optimize the recording volume.

  • Increase the gain on the Wireless GO II RX to Maximum (0dB)
  • Adjust the recording level on the camera or audio recorder device by gradually reducing it until you reach an average of -12 dB
Pro Tip: If your camera or audio recorder has a monitor 3.5mm headphone port, connect headphones to the port and check the audio from the Wireless GO II

Computer or Mobile:

In the case of connecting the Wireless GO II to a mobile device or computer via a USB cable, it's important to note that the gain settings on the Wireless GO II RX do not impact the output from the RX. Instead, the gain can be adjusted solely through the software or app provided by the connected device. For example, the RØDE Capture app on iPhones offers the capability to adjust the gain for optimal recording volume.

Pro Tip: Make sure you're audio monitoring levels are between -12dB and -6dB on your DAW software or app.
