The SC7 cable is a TRS to TRRS adaptor designed to connect RØDE microphones to devices that require a 3.5mm TRRS input, such as smartphones and computers.
Why It’s Needed
Many RØDE microphones (such as the Wireless GO II and VideoMic GO II) include TRS cables, which are intended for cameras and audio recorders.
- TRS connections are designed for audio input only
- Most mobile devices require a TRRS connection to accept external microphones
Without the correct connection type, your device may not detect the microphone.
TRS vs TRRS
- TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) → Used for cameras and recorders
- TRRS (Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve) → Used for smartphones and computers (supports audio input and output)
The SC7 converts the TRS output from your microphone into a TRRS signal that your device can recognise.
